Falcon Field marked its seventieth anniversary with an open house. A wide variety of aircraft were placed on display for the public to see up close.

North American P-51D Mustang NL151X Ho Hun, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 North American P-51D Mustang NL151X Ho Hun served the US Army Air Corps as 45-11628. Its construciton number is 124-48381. Michael E. Coutches of Hayward, California registered it as N5446V in 1961. Thomas P. Mathews of Monterey, California acquired it in 1963. Walter E. Stewart of Monterey registered it as N151X in 1966. Jack W. Flaherty of Monterey bought it in 1973 and flew it as Race #8. John T. Johnson of Rexburg, Idaho acquired it in 1975. William L. Hane of Portland, Oregon bought it in November 1981 and restored it as Ho Hun/CY-H. He later brought it to Mesa and loaned it to the Champlin Fighter Museum from 1983 to 1998. It has been registered to B&M Hun LLC since October 27, 2004.

North American AT-6C Harvard N4968S, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 North American AT-6C Harvard N4968S is restored in the colors of the South African Air Force. Its construciton number is 88-14161. It was ordered by the US Army Air Corps as 41-33784 and was assigned to the Royal Air Force as EX811. It has been registered to Warbirds and Classics LLC of Mesa since February 4, 2009.

North American T-6G Texan N51KT, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 North American T-6G Texan N51KT was assigned Air Force serial 49-3266 when it was remanufactures in 1951. Its construction number is 168-370. Charlotte J. Underwood of Phoenix, Arixona acquired it in 1963 and registered it as N9604C. James H. Nunn of Ontario, California bought it in 1972 and sold it to Elmer F. Ward of Santa Ana, California in 1976. Richard Foote of Andover, Connecticut bought it in 1977 and sold it to Bruce D. McCauley of Keene, New Hampshire in 1986. George M. Krieger and Dumfries Marine Corporation of Dover, Delaware acquired it in April 1988 and registered as N51KT in May 1990. Bruce Thompson of Anoka County, Minnesota acquired it in November 1997. It has been registered to Dennis Buehn of Carson City, Nevada since May 24, 2010.

Commemorative Air Force Douglas C-47A Skytrain N53ST, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Commemorative Air Force Douglas C-47A Skytrain N53ST served the US Army as 42-23518. Its construction number is 9380. It was flown in North Africa in World War II. It has been registered to Prescott DC3 Incorporated since November 30, 1989.

Beechcraft T-34A Mentor N6HK, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Beechcraft T-34A Mentor N6HK served the US Air Force as 53-3358. Its construction number is G.119.

MD Helicopters MD 500N NOTAR N70512, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 MD Helicopters MD 500N NOTAR N70512 was built in 2000. Its construction number is LN092. It has been registered to MD Helicopters Incorporated since August 2, 2000.

Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress N9323Z Sentimental Journey, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress N9323Z Sentimental Journey carries its original Army Air Force serial number, 44-83514. Its construction number is 32155. It was retired from the Air Force at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on January 27,1959. Acme Aircraft Parts of Compton, California registered it as N9323Z on July 31, 1959. Western Air Industries of Anderson, California acquired it in November 1960 and converted it to a fire tanker. It flew as tanker #E17. Aero Union Corp of Chico, California bought it on June 6, 1962 and flew it first as tanker #C17 and then as tanker #17. It was restored to stock military configuration as USAAF 44-83514 Class of 44 in 1977 by the Confederate Air Force. Soon after it was renamed Sentimental Journey. It is currently registered to the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum of Midland, Texas. It is operated by the Arizona Wing of the Coommemorative Air Force.

Robinson R44 II N190SH, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Robinson R44 II N190SH was built in 2007. Its construction number is 11694. It has been registered to Eric A. Spitzer LLC since October 23, 2008. It is operated by Phoenix Helicopter Services.

Douglas C-54B Skymaster N67017, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Douglas C-54B Skymaster N67017 was ordered by the US Army Air Corps as 42-72333 and was delivered to the US Navy as R5D-2 BuNo 39122 on October 24, 1944. Its construciton number is 10438. It was leased by Eastern Air Lines on June 16, 1946 as N88703 and assigned side number 711. it was returned to the US Navy as BuNo 39122 on May 11, 1951. Aircraft Specialties Incorporated bought it in March 1975 and registered it as N67017. It was acquired by Air Response Incorporated on May 28, 1986 and reregistered as N34NA. It has been parked at Falcon Field for over two decades. It has been registered to Brooks Fuel Incorporated of Fairbanks, Alaska as N67017 since February 22, 2010.

Commemorative Air Force North American SNJ-5 Texan N3246G, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Commemorative Air Force North American SNJ-5 Texan N3246G was ordered by the Army Air Force as AT-6D 42-86092, but it was delivered to the US Navy as SNJ-5 BuNo 90725. Its construction number is 88-17873. E. L. Honeywell of Fort Worth, Texas registered it as N3246G in 1963. Aero Nutz Incorporated of Monroe, Lo8uisiana bought it in 1966 and sold it to Raymond K. Elias of Portland, Texas in 1969. Confederate Air Force Arizona Wing of Mesa, Arizona acquired it on January 11, 1973. It was damaged when it ran off a runway during landing at Mesa on October 23, 2001.

Grumman AF-2S Guardian N9993Z, Falcon Field, April 2, 2011 Grumman AF-2S Guardian N9993Z was de3livered to the US Navy as BuNo 126731. It was acquired by Aero Union Corporation of Chico, California and registered as N9993Z. Its conversion to tanker was not undertaken and it was stored at Chico for many years. It was moved to Falcon Field about twenty years ago. It has been registered to the Commemorative Air Force since December 17, 2010. It appears that long awaited restoration is underway.
